Champions decided at final round of the Spanish Championship!

The Spanish Motocross Championship had it’s final round of the series this weekend at the Castillo de Ayud Circuit (Calatayud, Zaragoza). Yesterday the fog and clouds all day meant that the temperature did not rise above 13º but today the sun accompanied the riders in their last race of 2020.

On Saturday Guillem Farrés, who arrived with a wide points advantage over his nearest rival, David Braceras, took the MX125 title. Jorge Zaragoza was the best in the qualifying round for EliteMX1 and Yago Martínez for EliteMX2. Today decided the MX2 and MX2 Spanish titles.

Nil Arcarons, champion of EliteMX1

Ander Valentín led the first race during all the laps with Jorge Zaragoza in second position. Things went badly for José Antonio Butrón who, in his fight for the Championship, fell at the start and then broke his bike, leaving the title almost on a plate to Nil Arcarons who finished third.

In the decisive second race, Valentín began to lead again, but Butrón wanted to leave with a good taste and made a pass to win. Thus, the Husqvarna man came in second with Zaragoza in third. With his fourth position Arcarons has served to take the title of Spanish champion EliteMX1 and the plate of Leader 24MX.

Ander Valentín, Jorge Zaragoza and Nil Arcarons were present at the trophy ceremony.

Ruben Fernandez closes a spectacular year with the title of EliteMX2

In the first race of the EliteMX2, Yago Martínez dominated leading all the laps, setting a very high pace and not letting any of his rivals get close to him. Sergi Notario tried but had to settle for second place. Rubén Fernández closed the top three, which earned him the title of Spanish champion.

During the first laps of the second race Notario was in the lead but, little by little, Fernández got closer to him until he passed him and ended the year with a victory. Oriol Oliver crossed the finish line second and Notario third.

On the podium were Rubén Fernández, Yago Martínez and Sergi Notario.

David Beltrán’s double in MX125

Guillem Farrés led the group in the second race of MX125 until he fell over. Gerard Congost then took the lead but David Beltrán, who had a great weekend, overtook him to win and climb to the first step of the podium with two victories. Congost was second in the race and Adrià Monnè was third.

In the photo of the winners were David Beltrán, Gerard Congost and Guillem Farrés and in the YZ125 bLU cRU Cup Raúl Sánchez, Víctor Alonso and Gonzalo Vargas.

Next year the RFME Spanish Motocross Championship will be back in action in style.
