Chad Reed update after his big crash in Paris

A sore Chad Reed spoke to GuyB at Vital MX after a tough weekend in Paris that left the Aussie nursing a rib injury as he heads to New Zealand.

“It’s never fun to crash, especially on the start,” said Reed of the crash in race two on Sunday. “It was way too much like my Seattle crash. Seattle was my fault this unfortunately was just one of those racing moves, the inside pushing from left to right the outside pushing from right to left and I found myself in a squeeze in a middle. I think I tagged with Mookie, I saw the video replay, Barcia, it’s like he hit me but didn’t and dragged me off the bike somehow. It was a strange crash and I landed right on my back and feel like I have some ribs that are not feeling so great, bumps and bruises go away in a week hopefully! I jump on a plane tomorrow for New Zealand, so go there and try and heal up all week and try to see how I feel next weekend.”

“Overall, I think we made some good progress, overall it wasn’t the results that you wanted but I got track time and the intensity that is on offer at these races is really, really high. These events and this particular time of year, it’s the best you are gonna see from these guys, it’s all downhill from here. I don’t mean that in a bad way, I’ve just seen it a million times before. As the weekend went on my intensity got better in places. Really struggled on night one, I never, ever  have arm pump and I struggled with arm pump, it was good I didn’t have that tonight. A bummer it ended with a crash but for the most part I feel healthy and ready to go, I’ll definitely take a lot from what we learnt this weekend.”
