Cairoli cuts into Herlings points lead – Anstie on the box!

It was a perfect day for Antonio Cairoli as he picked up two race wins and fifty championship points to claw into Jeffrey Herlings points lead to narrow it down to twelve points.

Cairoli had no drama’s in the first moto as he led every lap. However, in the second moto he stalled the bike and then crashed on the first lap which meant he had work to do. He closed up on Tim Gajser and reclaimed the lead on lap five to secure the double moto victory.

Joining Cairoli on the podium were the two ICE ONE Husqvarna riders. Paulin’s consistency paid off as a 4-3 scorecard was enough to secure the second spot on the podium. Anstie who hasn’t had a good season was back on form at the Ottobiano circuit as he went 3-4 in the moto’s to round off the podium. The Brit will be hoping that’s the turning point of his season.

Tim Gajser just missed out on the podium by a point which he’ll be disappointing about but he finished a strong second in moto two.
