Broken ankle for Chad Reed – out of Aus-X open!
Chad Reed has revealed he will not compete at the Aus-X Open this year after breaking his ankle at the Red Bull straight rhythm.
The Aussie required surgery but still hopes to be fit to race the full 2018 supercross series – on a Husqvarna.
Reed made the announcement on Instagram, saying: “Unfortunately my slight over jump last week resulted in two fractures to my ankle (talus). I saw my specialist and the best chance at a healthy fast recovery was to do surgery.” But Reed added he will be there in Australia to watch the race and greet fans. “Unfortunately I won’t be able to compete in in two weeks time BUT I’ll make the trip down to see as many fans as possible.”
Reed then posted a picture of his stickered up Husqvarna machine saying he missed riding already!
