British AX RD2: Results from Glasgow!

British AX RD2: Results from Glasgow!

It was shaping up to be an exciting final in Glasgow as there were four different heat winners on the night. Ramette, Soubeyras, Coulon and Chatfield all won a heat each – good to see Chatfield give the British crowd something to get behind.

Before the main event it was Cyrille Coulon who set the quickest lap in the hot lap to give him some confidence heading into the main. Especially after his mechanical last week he will be wanting that win this weekend!

In the LCQ head to head it was Billy MacKenzie racing in front of his home crowd who won from Hugo Basaula but both men progressed into the main event.

When the gate dropped for the main event it was the SR75 Suzuki team mates, Coulon and Ramette that led the way. Coulon never looked back and won the event, he has never looked better! Ramette always looked comfortable in second, it’s good championship points for him after he didn’t finished in round one!

It was all going on behind those two though, the championship leader from round one, Pellegrini crashed out and didn’t finish the main. Soubeyras got a bad start and struggled to work his way through the pack but he ended up fourth behind Escoffer who was the promoters pick for the main – what a ride from him on his MVRD Husqvarna!

Adam Chatfield was top Brit finishing in fifth in front of Brunell who crashed around the first corner, it was a brilliant recovery ride from him.

In the first pro lites final it was Yannis Irsuti leading on the first lap but he made a mistake which meant Jason Meara was leading! However, unfortunately at the half way mark Meara crashed out of the lead but he remounted and ended up finished fifth. Chris Bayliss grabbed this chance and took the moto win.

In the second moto it was French rider, Yannis Irsuti who took the win – that’s now three out of four moto’s that he has won in the series. Dylan Woodcock had a much improved second round and finished second ahead of Bayliss. Meara was dead last on the first lap but rode well to get back to fifth spot.
