French rider, Mathys Boisrame didn’t have a good first round of the EMX250 series but he was able to put the bad weekend behind in Portugal. The Assomotor Honda rider went 1-1, in the first moto he controlled the gap at the front to comfortably win.
The riders faced difficult conditions for moto two after some overnight rain and Kevin Horgmo made Boisrame work hard for the second moto victory but he just about got it.
Mel Pocock looked like coming home in third but Brian Moreau made a move on him on the last lap. Pocock ended up second overall on his Revo Husqvarna and is the new championship leader.
Italian rider, Giuseppe Tropepe rounded off the podium in third overall and sits third in the championship chase behind Pierre Goupillon.
Martin Barr wasn’t 100% fit after his crashes at round two of the Maxxis British Championship but rode smart to clinch sixth overall and stays in championship contention.
