Bastian Bøgh Damm impressive at Markelo!

Young Danish rider, Bastian Bøgh Damm put in an impressive ride on his Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki during the first round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross.

There was a stacked field of GP and EMX riders at the first Dutch race held at Markelo but the sixteen year old showed some encouraging signs. Last year was his first year on the 250cc after making an early jump up from the 125cc, perhaps sooner than planned.

However, he had a very solid day in Markelo finishing the first moto in fifteenth. He did even better in the second moto crossing the line in twelfth. This meant he ended up twelth overall.

Bøgh Damm should take confidence from that result as he was the third EMX250 rider in the overall classification behind the more experienced Martin Barr and another young gun Roan van de Moosdijk. He beat a host of EMX riders such as Maxime Renaux, Jere Haavisto and Hardi Roosiorg just to name a few!

This weekend Bøgh Damm will travel back to Denmark for a race before the EMX250 series gets underway in Redsands the following weekend.

Bastian Bøgh Damm: “I have had a very good winter training and I was excited to see what level I was at for this first race of 2018. I am very happy with 12th overall in this strong race and I felt good on the bike and on the rutted track. I am looking forward to the first EMX250 race of the year in Redsand in less than two weeks.”
