Barr keeps red plate at Matterley basin

PR – Revo Husqvarna’s Martin Barr took a fourth overall today in the EMX250 championship at Matterley basin, allowing the Irishman to retain the red plate.

The sun bore down over the English crowd this weekend at Matterley Basin as the Revo Husqvarna team raced on home turf to a 10,000 strong crowd. Martin Barr and Mel Pocock had an intense two races on the hard pack track, with a matter of tenths separating the top five riders. After a tough battle between the team mates, Pocock came seventh overall and Barr came fourth.

Dylan Woodcock also had a successful weekend coming fifth in the LCQ allowing him to race the full two EMX250 races for the first time this season.

Martin Barr: The EMX at Matterly Basin didn’t go too badly, I qualified fifth but then when it came to the race, I had a terrible start and a bit of a nightmare on lap one but I kept my head down and push the whole way to the end! Race two I had a better start and found myself battling with my team mate Mel, the whole race! I managed to get past him with two laps to go to finished fourth which gave me 4th overall this weekend which was enough to still hold onto the red plate! There is still along way to go in the championship but I’m happy to be nearly back to full strength and looking forward to France this coming weekend.
