Aussie champ signs EMX deal!

The MX2 2016 MX National Champion Jed Beaton has signed a deal to contest the EMX250 championship during the 2017 season.

Jed will make a switch from Yamaha and ride for a new team that will enter the GP paddock, Carglass Honda. The team will be based in Holland, the initial plan for the team was to actually contest the MX2 World championship. However, Beaton will race the EMX250 series in order to learn the tracks and lifestyle in Europe. Jed has also expressed an interest in racing the MX2 rounds that don’t collide.

Beaton rode the Switzerland round of the EMX250 championship this year and showed good speed despite bad starts. With two Americans in the form Tristan Charboneau and Ryan Surratt also competing in the EMX series next year there will be a lot of international talent in the class.

Jed Beaton: “Moving to Holland I am looking forward to a new challenge away from home and being out of my comfort zone. I think it’s going to make me a stronger person and I want to do better. It all came about a little bit before motocross of nations and as I had a meeting there, it pretty much took off from there! I’m excited to get over there and see how I go. it’s been a dream of mine to race in Europe since I was young so I am really looking forward to it!”
