Antti Pyrhönen confirms IceOne Husqvarna to run two MXGP riders in 2021

After Arminas Jasikonis scary crash at Mantova this year, the Lithuanian is still in the recovery process. There had been rumours that the Factory IceOne Husqvarna team would sign up a third MXGP World Championship rider for the 2021 season.

However, we can confirm this isn’t the case and the team will only run MXGP rookie Thomas Kjer Olsen alongside Jasikonis when he’s healthy and strong enough to return to racing.

Whether or not that will leave Olsen as the sole Factory Husqvarna rider at the start of the season remains to be seen but the team manager, Antti Pyrhönen has offered a positive update on Jasikonis which is good to hear.

“We have two rider line up for 2021, Arminas Jasikonis and Thomas Kjer Olsen. AJ is recovering very well and we are following his situation and progress day by day but, for sure his will and motivation for returning back to racing is huge!! Our trainer Tomi Konttinen is working with him daily and it is great to see how good recovery he has done already. Thomas has been doing quite some testing and training already with the 450 and has already started out super well, the FC450 seems to fit him very well”, Pyrhönen told GateDrop.com.
