Another operation required for Everts

The consequences of the malaria attack continue to have a major impact on the daily life of Stefan Everts (46). The ten-time world champion fought against death at the end of last year, now he has to go under the knife for the third time.

In two previous operations, Everts had already partially lost six toes and now one piece also has to be removed from his big right toe. Whether the big toe as a whole will have to be removed or only the upper part, can only be determined during the operation itself.

Earlier ‘the Legend’ already lost six toes, two on his left foot and four on the right. The operation is scheduled for next Thursday at the UZ in Leuven.
