It looks as though Thomas Covington wont be the only American in MX2 next year as one of his good buddy’s could be joining him in the class. It is thought that Darian Sanayei is close to signing with Dixon Racing Team to complete in the MX2 World Championship next year.

This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise because Darian rode for the team at Matterley Basin as he competed in the EMX250 class and he told us in this interview that racing the MX2 world championship could be an option in the future.

Darian had a good ride in England as he won the first moto and followed that up with a twelfth, he finished fourth overall. He then went back to USA to focus on Loretta Lynn’s where he competed in the 250 A class.

Loretta Lynn’s was a success for him as he finished fourth, fifth and first in the moto’s to end up in second overall, was close to the overall but it wasn’t meant to be!

Darian is clearly talented so it will be nice to see another American compete with the fastest riders in the world on a 250 machine in the MX2 class and he will be able to improve his versatility by riding a lot of different tracks all around the world.
