Andrea Dovizioso injured at Faenza

Andrea Dovizioso decided to contest the Regional Italian Motocross Championship today at Faenza after getting special permission from Ducati to contest a Motocross race.  Dovizioso’s day got of to a good start as he put in a respectable qualifying time – sixth in his group.

However, in the first race, the Italian crashed and landed on his left shoulder. The MotoGP man went straight to hospital with a suspected broken collarbone.

The MotoGP Ducati team will now sweat on his fitness with MotoGP set to return on the 19th of July. Dovizioso’s future still isn’t clear beyond the 2020 season but Ducati are thought to want to keep him.
