An injury report heading into Argentina!

An injury report heading into Argentina!

MXGP

Tim Gajser: It wasn’t a pretty sight as the Slovenian took a big crash in Mantova during his only pre-season of the race. His race before that he also took a big crash at the Monster Cup in America so it’s not a good time for Gajser. However, when you see how big the crash was in Mantova, he’s got rather fortunate that the outcome is a fractured jaw. Gajser has a chance of returning to action at round two in Valkenswaard.

Brian Bogers: Gajser isn’t the only HRC Honda rider injured as he joins his team mate on the injury list. In November, Bogers took a crash and suffered a complex fracture-dislocation of the right foot. Unfortunately, the Dutch rider is expected to be ruled out for the first four or five GP’s so we will have to wait a while before he makes his GP debut.

Arnaud Tonus: It was expected to be a strong year for the Swiss rider on his Wilvo Yamaha but unfortunately during the Lacapelle Marival International race he dislocated his shoulder. His return to racing is currently unknown but he’s expected to miss at least the first two rounds of the series which is a real shame.

Jordi Tixier: Since winning the MX2 World Championship, the French rider can’t seem to catch a break as he’s been injured pretty much every year since. Tixier broke a tendon in his hand at the Hawkstone International event. It’s unkown how long he will be out of action for but you’d think at least the first three GP’s at least.

Valentin Guillod: In Janaury, the Swiss rider unfortunately broke his leg. He is making a good recovery but is definitely out of action for the first round. The Standing Construct KTM rider still isn’t back on bike so we will just have to wait and see on his return to racing.

Jonathan Bengtsson: It was exciting times for the Swede as he was about to contest his first oversea MXGP race. However, he unfortunately picked up a hand injury last week. He had an operation to try and be back for Argentina but he’s decided that it’s best to sit the first round out and come back for round two in Valkenswaard.

MX2

Thankfully the MX2 World Championship hasn’t been hit with as many injuries as the MXGP series and there’s only two riders out for the first round.

Simone Furlotti: The Italian picked up a wrist injury and is still in recovery mode. The goal for the Italian is to be back for the MXGP of Trentino so he will definitely miss three rounds of the series.

Anton Gole: The Swede broke his scaphoid bone just last week which is a blow just before the first round. It’s been revealed the I-Fly JK Yamaha rider will only miss two rounds of the series and make his return to racing in Spain.
