AMA Supercross fate expected to be decided next week
Feld are hopeful that the remaining rounds of the AMA Supercross will take place in May behind closed doors as oppose to waiting until after the outdoor season and a decision is expected to be made next week.
“From what I hear, the virus needs to decline per the CDC for 14 straight days before Feld can hold these races, as of yesterday it’s been 4. There will be face masks worn, temp checks, only essential people allowed”, Steve Matthes from PulpMX tweeted.
Factory Husqvarna rider, Dean Wilson posted a similar message, “So pretty much sounds like we will know forsure if we are racing in 10 days if virus doesn’t spike in Arizona. It has been 4 days with no spike but need 14. If good we should be racing mid may. I know some already know this news but this is all I know”, Wilson stated.
Matthes also believes the following schedules are being looked at:
First possible schedule: May 15th -May 18th -May 22nd -May 29th -June 1st -June 5th and June 11th and….
Second possible schedule: May 15th -May 18th -May 22nd -May 25th -May 29th -June 1st and June 5th.
