A good weekend for the Creymert Racing team in Latvia!

A good weekend for the Creymert Racing team in Latvia!

After the last EMX250 round in Russia didn’t go to plan for Creymert KTM rider, Kevin Horgmo, the young Norwegian was keen to put things right with a better weekend in Latvia. He did exactly that as he had a solid day finishing both moto’s in eighth position. His younger team mate, David Braceras Martinez who was riding in the EMX125 Championship had a great day as he finished a superb eighth in the second moto. The victories on the day went to Mathys Boisrame (EMX250) and Rene Hofer (EMX125).

Qualifying went well for Horgmo as he’s good at putting quick laps in. He ended up fifth in timed practice to give him a good gate pick for the moto’s.

Horgmo didn’t take advantage of his good gate pick in the first moto as he was tenth at the end of the first lap. He made a mistake which meant he lost a few positions but he recovered quickly and got back in the top ten. He was battling with Gifting and Moreau before eventually getting the better of them to come home in a solid eighth position.

Unfortunately, Horgmo got an even worse start in the second moto. The sixteen-year-old was eighteenth at the end of the first lap. However, he didn’t panic and worked his way through the pack. After five laps he found himself in eleventh position and moving forward which shows he has the speed. He then found his way past Sydow, Moreau and Gifting to come home in another eighth position. It was a good day for Horgmo but he’ll be targeting on improving his starts and then he can get himself back in the top five.

EMX125

As it’s Braceras rookie year in the EMX125 class it’s all a learning experience for the young Spaniard but Latvia was a step in the right direction. In the first moto Braceras didn’t have a good start as he was buried down the order in twenty-fifth after lap one. The young Spaniard liked the track and started to pick riders off one at a time. The fifteen-year-old worked his way up to fifteenth in what was a very good ride – he secured his first championship points in the EMX125 championship which was positive.

With confidence at a high, Braceras managed a good start in the second moto. After the first lap he was sitting in eleventh. Again, just like he did in the first moto he worked his way forward and found himself in seventh on the penultimate lap. Unfortunately, Thibault Benistant passed him on the final lap but eighth is a brilliant result and should do the Spaniard’s confidence a world of good.

Kevin Horgmo: “It was another positive weekend but I struggled with the starts, though the riding was good. Finally, I got some consistency with two eighth place finishes”.

David Braceras: “I am very happy with this weekend. It is my first time in the points but I am very happy with my second race as I finished in eighth”.

Next Race:

The EMX125 Championship takes place this weekend in Germany, Teutschenthal where Braceras will be in action. The next round of the EMX250 series takes place in Matterley Basin two weekends after that.
