Wilson Todd’s move to GP’s falls through

Wilson Todd had a good year competing in Australia in 2018 and won the Pirelli MX Nationals MX2 championship.

The Aussie Champ was then linked with a move to contest the MX2 World Championship in 2019. If rumours are to be believed it’s thought he was lined up to sign for 114 Motorsports Honda and apparently even tested a factory KTM at one stage too.

In the end the 114 Motorsports Honda team signed another Aussie but in the form of Mitch Evans to partner Zach Pichon. Factory KTM ended up putting their faith in French talent, Tom Vialle.

However, Todd has confirmed that he’s signed with DPH Motorsport Husqvarna in 2019 to defend his MX Nationals title.

“I had planned to go to Europe and was committed that, but it fell through and I didn’t have too many options”, Todd told MotoOnline.com.au.

Even though Todd won’t make the switch to the World Championship in 2019, he might still be the next Aussie to make the switch in 2020 or beyond.
