Weekend watch: Supercross and British championship!

With no MXGP this weekend it’s the national championships that takes centre stage along with US supercross.

In the states Jason Anderson continues his march to his first ever supercross title but as he said to Jason Weigandt, he feels the pressure more during the week than he does during race days. But Anderson is handling each weekend well and is managing to ride like he normally does without the extra risk.

Meanwhile in the 250s with no Austin Forkner and a 12 point lead over Jordon Smith, Zach Osborne appears to be in control of the 250 East, but in supercross anything can happen!

The race will also be unique as it will during the day with practice in the morning – making it easier for us in the UK and Europe to watch in the evening!

Meanwhile back in the UK a disappointing Portuguese GP the Hitachi ASA KTM duo Graeme Irwin and Conrad Mewse will enter round two of Canada heights with the red plates and a point to prove.

Irwin was ill in Portugal but with a deep field in the British championship and an on-form Bobryshev and Nicholls, Irwin will be hoping he is fully recovered to hold onto the red plate at Canada Heights.

Conrad Mewse had a somewhat bewildering performance in Portugal picking up zero points despite a brilliant start to the season. Mewse has dropped from fifth to seventh in the championship but Canada Heights gives him the opportunity to get back to racing for wins and renew his confidence.

Behind him Mel Pocock will be on a high as well the impressive Josh Gilbert who got his first podium last time out. Josiah Natzke should be feeling healthier as should Martin Barr, who although still struggling with his ligaments will be hoping for more luck than he had at round one!
