Vlaanderen to represent the Dutch at Assen MXoN

Calvin Vlaanderen will start as Team NL’s MX2 rider at the Motocross of Nations on 28th and 29th of September in Assen. Team manager Patrice Assendelft made his final choice after the Grand Prix in China.

In the run-up to the Nations, the pre selection of the Netherlands, alongside ‘certainties’ Jeffrey Herlings and Glenn Coldenhoff, consisted of European Champion 250cc Roan van de Moosdijk and MX2 rider Calvin Vlaanderen. The decision between the two was not easy.

Assendelft: “Calvin has had a challenging season due to injuries, but has again reached a high level in the final phase of the MX2 world championship. We are confident that Calvin will be able to take his great form to Assen and be of great value to Team NL. “

“Of course it is very sad for Roan van de Moosdijk”, continues Assendelft. “It is always annoying to have to disappoint someone, but part of the sport is also making choices. Roan is a professional and has responded well. We are going to have a lot of fun in the coming years.”
