Video: Stefan Everts

A very cool video from 2005 when the King of motocross, Stefan Everts, was an eight-time world champion and talks about his goals of being a ten-time champion along with some words of wisdom on how to accomplish your goal.

With a career spanning 16 seasons, 10 world titles, winning in every class (including three classes in one day), a record 101 GP wins and overcoming serious injuries – plus waxing James Stewart in his last race at 33 years old with a riding style that can’t be matched, there is a serious argument for Everts to be considered as the Greatest of All Time in the sport.

Now in 2017, Antonio Cairoli is the Everts of his time. He is the current king of MXGP, currently on eight titles himself, and it will be interesting to see if he can make the final push in these next two seasons, having had to overcome injuries of his own, to get a record equalling ten world titles just like Everts has.

Or will we see Jeffrey Herlings, currently on three world titles increase his tally as he guns for Everts world title and GP win record?

Everts has been retired for eleven years but his legacy lives on with the two of the current greats inspired and motivated by the King’s records.

The other riders are still chasing him!
