Transworld motocross got some nice footage of a rapid Eli Tomac getting ready for the MXoN at Red Bud by testing the 2019 Kawasaki and then asked if he is the fastest rider in the world!
So is he? The US champ is indeed incredibly fast in the states but surely Tomac can only prove he is the fastest/best rider in the world when he beats the world champ (about to be Jeffrey Herlings) over 20 rounds across multiple countries and tracks of the MXGP world championship not just by winning your own national championship or a one-off event at a Red Bud?
As Ryan Villopoto found out, the world championship is a different ballgame!
But it all adds to the intrigue and whoever wins, Red Bud should be an absolutely epic event as about to be world champ Herlings and US champ Tomac face-off for the third time on Tomac’s home turf.
Interestingly, Tomac has never raced Herlings outside the USA or even beaten Herlings overall in the states so Eli will no doubt be very highly motivated to finally defeat the Dutchman and Red Bud might be his best chance so far!
