Video: Last year in Latvia – injuries
Jeffrey Herlings made his long-awaited comeback from a broken foot to sensationally win the first moto in Latvia in 2019 with a broken ankle sustained after crashing on the warm-up lap and getting his foot run over by Jasikonis!
The Dutchman was in a lot of pain and went straight to the hospital after race one to get fixed up and endured another frustrating spell on the sidelines.
It was a bad day all round for Red Bull KTM as their title contender Tony Cairoli would be out for the season after a bad crash resulted in a dislocated shoulder on the fast, rough circuit.
Let’s hope the three GPs in a week in Latvia in 2020 can a see all the riders get through unscathed unlike 2019.
