Video: Indonesian MXGP track location

Take a look at the location for this weeks Indonesian MXGP round.

The video was from two weeks ago and the track is still under construction, but it does seem a good area to build a purpose-built track and with loamy dirt it will be a different challenge for the riders compared to Qatar, and hopefully some great racing!

Giuseppe Luongo spoke to us last week about the event. “Indonesia is a big country (more than 230 million inhabitants) and one of the best growing motorcycle markets in the world,” explained the head of Youthstream. “Indonesians are strongly passionate about Motocross and in the past there were always 40 – 50 thousand spectators at the GP events and the organization has always been impeccable, we believe this year’s MXGP of Indonesia will be nothing less.”

“The agreement in Indonesia has been made directly with the Federation and the Government of Indonesia. The track will be built on a natural terrain, very nice dirt – a little bit sandy, there is excellent infrastructures around the track and it’s only 2km from the town and airport. It will be one of those events you will never forget.”

It will be interesting to see how the event turns out, a similar purpose built circuit was created in Switzerland last year and provided great racing, lets hope Indonesia will provide the same action and that it stays dry!
