Video: Cianciarulo GoPro Red Bud – penalty correct?

Adam Cianciarulo didn’t have it all his own way at Red Bud, but the 250 points leader showed his maturity by still getting on the podium despite a two place demotion by the AMA in race one. The officials judged he had re-entered the track unsafely following a mistake over the finish line jump at the end of the first lap (see the move at 2m 10sec in the first moto below).

Cianciarulo said: “Although I’m struggling to accept and understand the decision to dock me two positions in the first moto, I’m going to stay positive and focused. I’m stoked to turn it around with a solid second moto and second overall on the day. Being able to perform in front of that crowd, with all the energy and enthusiasm, is truly special. It’s something I certainly don’t take for granted. I’m looking forward to a weekend off and finishing this season strong.”

Cianciarulo now has a 25 point lead over Red Bud winner and East Coast supercross nemesis, Dylan Ferrandis, with five rounds to go in the championship.
