Verhelst signs with VRT Nordpesca KTM

It’s been announced that young Belgian rider, Tallon Verhelst has signed a deal with the VRT KTM Nordpesca team for the rest of the season and the 2021 season. It’s not yet clear what championships Verhelst will ride when things get back to normal but there’s chance we could see him in the GP paddock.

“At the beginning of the year I signed a deal with the German team OneForOne Production, they were interested in me after the Supercross races. But now the ADAC only want to give 2-max races. 4 races on the end of this year so I’m not making any progression just to “practice” for a team. What the ADAC races will bring is still not sure yet. The deal with VRT Nordpesca Holland came out of a unexpected corner. I’m good friends with the son of the boss so we just practised together since the tracks are open again”, Verhelst told GateDrop.com.

“Daniel Lokker (Nordpesca Holland) came to watch me on a practise in Lommel and Lille here in Belgium and the team was immediately interested in me. We tested the bikes before we made things official. It’s a very nice atmosphere at the team, positive vibes, I still have no expectations because there are no races planned for me at the moment, ONK, Dutch Masters, most of the Belgian races are cancelled and there are no further plans for racing here in Belgium. Maybe I’ll ride a few GP’s this year and the other possible races when it’s safe for everyone, good and safe racing is number 1 in our world. Next year I’ll ride Dutch Masters and the ONK as priority. For other races or some GP’s we have to see how the riding is going and how COVID19 evolves. It’s difficult to make official race plans at this moment”, concluded Verhelst.
