Van Horebeek: It’s been a real roller-coaster this year
Jeremy Van Horebeek only secured a full-time MXGP ride a few weeks before round one of the series in Argentina but despite that started the season really well.
However, the Belgian picked up a wrist injury which has been holding him back lately. In Latvia the SR-Honda rider was back at the sharp end and looked way more comfortable.
Van Horebeek went 7-5 in the moto’s for fifth overall and set the quickest lap time in moto two to show he had the speed.
The Belgian has admitted it’s not easier being a privateer battling with the factory riders.
“Top 5, it’s good to be back but it’s not so easy like it looks! Remember we are a private team and we have to go to war every single weekend with the factory team’s and the big budgets they have! I’m really thankful to my team @teamhondasr and @josse_sallefranque because of what we do. It’s been a real roller-coaster this year but I think we can be proud of what we are doing. I Don’t like when things go easy but a little bit more easy would be welcome”, Van Horebeek posted on social media.
