UK Arenacross: Results from Manchester!
The first round of the UK Arenacross hit Manchester for a much anticipated first round of the 2016 championship! Going into the main Thomas Ramette, Cedric Soubeyras, Matt Bayliss and Josh Hansen had all won a race heat – a different winner in each heat race in this very competitive championship. Who would have thought Matt Bayliss would have won a heat? The surprise package of the first round.
Before the main event, the head-to-to event took place, Cedric Soubeyras came away with the win in that one!
It was then time for the main event! Last years series winner, Thomas Ramette started the year as he finished it last year with the holeshot from Jack Brunell, Matt Bayliss and Cedric Soubeyras as Josh Hansen crashed on the opening lap which left him a lot of work to do.
Bayliss then crashed which left in buried down the pack and he remounted in eighth. At the front, Brunell and Soubeyras caught Ramette and started to apply the pressure but Ramette held on for the win! Soubeyras passed Brunell on the last lap but at least one Brit made the podium!
Cedric Soubeyras leads the championship due to his second place in the main and the extra four points he gained for winning the head-to-head.
