Tough weekend in Switzerland for Horgmo

Tough weekend in Switzerland for Horgmo

At the ninth round of the EMX250 series that took place at the Frauenfeld circuit, Kevin Horgmo secured ten points. Creymert’s KTM rider, David Braceras managed to qualify for the main races which he didn’t do in Lommel but unfortunately, he couldn’t score any points in the races.

Horgmo had a solid qualifying as he put in the eighth quickest time in his qualifying group.  However, a bad start left Horgmo with a lot of work to do and because of that it was a difficult moto for the young Norwegian. The Creymert rider didn’t ride with his usual flow and speed and dropped back to twenty-seventh in in the end. A result the EMX250 rookie will certainly be disappointed about especially after showing race winning speed in Lommel. However, he’s still feeling the effects from his big crash there.

A better start in the second moto helped his cause as he was sat in tenth on the first lap. After being passed by a few riders Horgmo dug deep and started to find his rhythm in the second half of the moto. He edged out Dylan Walsh to come home in eleventh, Walsh won the first moto of the weekend so it just goes to show how competitive the EMX250 series is.

EMX125

On Wednesday, Braceras won the 125cc race which took place at the Belgian Masters in Mol-Balen which was good for his confidence coming into the Swiss round of the EMX125 series. Qualifying went well for the young Spaniard as he put in the ninth qualifying time to comfortably qualify which was a positive start to the weekend.

In the first moto, the young Spaniard just missed out on the points as he finished in twenty-first and not too far behind Emil Jonrup who has had some top ten finishes so far this year.

The 15-year-old got off to a very bad start in the first moto as he was buried down in thirtieth after the first full lap. He managed to get back to twenty-fifth which again meant no points but it’s progress from Lommel and races like these will help him improve.

Kevin Horgmo: I didn’t feel very comfortable this weekend, I struggled a lot with the track and my rhythm.

David Braceras:  I do a good time in qualifying, P9 in my group but after in the races I don’t have the best feeling and my ridding was really bad, but I will change it for Assen.
