Tomac: Excited to get going

New dad, Eli Tomac, is ready to get back to racing as the supercross points leader tries to clinch his first 450 supercross title over the next three weeks.

After getting in some riding, Eli spoke to NBC Sports, and said he feels the elevation at Salt Lake City is what is going to make it tough on everybody – especially with mid-week racing.

Tomac said: “Excited to get this going , we have been off for almost three months now for obvious reasons, it’s pretty cool to get going here. That’s going to be the test for us and we are at elevation at Salt Lake. You have little bit of a loss of power, a lot of guys train at sea level and we are up here at 4,000-5,000 ft at elevation so cardio-wise we are going to be pushed to the limit. This go-around we are doing Sunday and Wednesday. Recovery is going to be key, especially probably three races into this.”

Tomac is just three points ahead of Ken Roczen but there doesn’t appear to be any sign of nerves just yet for the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider.
