Tixier to make MXGP return in Imola as part of MXDN prep

Jordi Tixier has missed the last four rounds of the MXGP World Championship after parting ways with the BOS MXGP team. The former MX2 World Champion has been racing the ADAC MX Masters Championship and finished second overall at Gaildort and Holzgerlingen.

It was announced last week that Tixier will represent team France at the Motocross Des Nations taking place at RedBud in less than two weeks time. He’s been chosen up to represent France after Romain Febvre was ruled out of the event.

The Frenchman’s plans for the 2019 season have also become clear after signing with French team, VHR KTM. The team normally focus on the EMX and MX2 World Championship but they’ve decided to go in a different direction for next year and run a rider in the MXGP class.

Tixier won’t have to wait until next year to make his debut with his new team as he’ll be racing under the VHR awning at the final round of the MXGP World Championship taking place at Imola this weekend. The French talent will use it to prepare for the Motocross Des Nations taking place the following weekend.

“The team owner of the VHR KTM team has helped me a lot since I was young. He is part of my success. I know and trust Bruno Verhaeghe (team owner) a lot and I’m proud to ride for his team for the end of 2018 and 2019. We are all going to give our best for good results.

Because of my selection at the MXON we decide to ride the MXGP race at Imola, to finalise the testing with the team.

I really would like to thank Bruno Verhaeghe and the VHR team, my parents, brother and girlfriend who are always there for me. Also, thanks to 4Dconcept who believe in me and all the sponsors and fans”. Tixier commented.
