Sterry just misses the podium in Holland!

The second round of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross was held on Easter Monday and went well for the F&H Racing team. Adam Sterry was in good form and ended up just missing the podium for fourth overall with Jed Beaton ending up just behind his team mate in fifth overall. They were both tied in points with Thomas Covington but the American edged them out with a better second moto. Jago Geerts won the MX2 class on the day and as a result leads the championship.

The day started strongly for the F&H Racing team as all three riders ended qualifying in the top ten. Beaton put a blistering lap time in for second just missing out on pole! Spanish talent, Fernandez put in the seventh quickest time with Sterry putting in the ninth quickest lap time to set things nicely up for the moto’s.

In the first moto all three F&H Kawasaki riders were locked together in a battle with Beaton in third and his two team mates just behind him. Beaton was running third early in the moto but then made a mistake which dropped him back to seventh. Sterry was riding good and applying the pressure on Covington for third but then he also made a mistake which saw him lost a few positions. Beaton was putting in good lap times and ended up back in a very strong third position. Sterry was locked in a battle with Watson and could win the battle with the fellow Brit for fourth position. Ferandez was running strong in sixth but then had a problem with the bike which meant he had to pull out.

Unfortunately, Beaton went down at the start of the second moto which meant he was buried down the pecking order with work to do. Things were going better for Fernandez as he was running strong in third and could there for around twenty minutes before Covington found his way past the Spaniard. Fernandez could stay fourth which was a very good ride and was the best placed F&H Racing team rider in the second moto. Sterry ended up a solid fifth to secure fourth overall. After a bad first lap Beaton rode well to come up through the pack which resulted in a seventh position.

Adam Sterry: “My first Dutch masters race yesterday and I’m happy with the result. I was happy with my riding and just missed the podium so lots of positives to take from it!

Each week we are making progress and getting closer to where we want to be. After having so much time off last year and then the finger at the beginning of this year it’s been difficult but now I feel everything is coming together”.
