Gemert – Yesterday the ‘Hawkstone Park International’ was held in winter conditions as the riders even faced snow at certain parts of the day. The first race of the year went well for the F&H Racing Team and Adam Sterry. After ten months of rehabilitation Adam was back behind the starting gate and the friendly Brit had a solid weekend. A seventh and a third place during the moto’s gave the 21-year old fourth overall just missing out on the podium. Jed Beaton (13-10) narrowly missed out on the top ten, the Australian was eleventh overall on the day. The victory went to Pauls Jonass, the reigning MX2 World Champion as he won both motos.
Adam Sterry: “It’s good to shake of the nerves because I was definitely nervous before this weekend. It’s been ten months since I last done a start in a race, it’s a long time and by far the longest time I’ve ever been off the bike. The longest before that without no racing or riding was probably a month and a half so it’s good to get back into it”.
The team travels to France this weekend to contest the Lacapelle Marival International race. It’s another race that will help the team to prepare for the FIM MX2 World Championship that starts on the 3rd and 4th of March in Argentina. A week later, the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross starts in Markelo
