Sterry and Jacobi on Valkenswaard

Sterry and Jacobi on Valkenswaard

Last weekend, Adam Sterry rode his home GP at Matterley Basin but at the weekend it was turn for the F&H racing team’s home GP at Valkenswaard. Both Henry Jacobi and Adam Sterry had a good weekend and showed good speed during round three of the MX2 World Championship.

After his podium at Matterley Basin, Jacobi had to be content with fifth overall which is still a good result and shows his improvement from 2018. It was also a step in the right direction for Sterry as he ended up a very solid eighth overall. Jorge Prado won the third round of the MX2 World Championship after returning from a shoulder injury. Jacobi stays second in the championship standings with Sterry jumping up to eighth.

Race One:

After a good fourth place finish during the qualifying race, Jacobi came into race day with a good feeling. The German known for his good starts didn’t disappoint in the first moto as he came out in third. He had Prado and Olsen in front of him. Jacobi stayed third the entire race and had a really strong moto. He rode a high pace and had no real threat from behind which is always a good sign.

Sterry got a good jump out of the gate, starts have been an area he’s been working on and it looks to be paying off. He was sixth after the first corner but unfortunately made a mistake which dropped him outside the top ten. He was able to recover and work his way into eleventh from fourteenth which was a solid race.

Race Two:

In the second race, Jacobi took an even better start as he was sat in second. However, it didn’t last for long as Olsen made a move on the German. Jacobi sat in third for half the race before Geerts, Vlaanderen and Watson made moves on him which meant he ended up sixth but still took solid championship points with fifth overall.

Unfortunately, Sterry didn’t have a great start in the second race as he was outside the top ten. The Brit was able to make some passes though and came home in ninth to earn a solid eighth overall. It was a definitely a step in the right direction for the Brit and he’ll look for even more at Arco this weekend.

Henry Jacobi:
I had another positive weekend and finished 4th place during the qualifying race despite a fall. On Sunday I also scored good points with a third and sixth place for 5th overall, I just missed the podium, but I was very close. I am really looking forward to the 4th round in Arco this weekend.

Adam Sterry:
Again the riding was good, I felt strong but a number of mistakes I made in the first laps cost me a better result. My starts were much better this weekend, so my plan is to have it all come together this weekend and make less mistakes!

Next race:

The F&H Racing team head to Arco this weekend for round four of the MX2 World Championship which takes place at Arco di Trento. The EMX250 series also resumes this weekend which will see Roan van de Moosdijk back in action.
