Ten-time world champion Stefan Everts is again been admitted to the University Hospital of Leuven. He turned out to have a lot of pain in the right foot for the last few days. It turns out to be an infection in a wound that was left behind after the attack of malaria in December last year.

The wound infection must now be treated with antibiotics. This happens intravenously. The motocross rider is still in his rehabilitation period and knew that it would be a trip by trial and error. Everts’ two feet were badly affected by malaria.

“It’s a blow for me, but as always I keep fighting and I will also overcome this obstacle” according to the Legend. He must stay in hospital for 2 to 6 weeks. Stefan Everts was in the news last month because he became co-owner of Yoko, the well-known manufacturer of motocross clothes.

We wish Stefan and his family the best.
