Spies signs with Maddii Racing

Last year young German, Maximilian Spies had been racing a two-stroke in the EMX250 championship but he’s managed to secure a ride for the 2020 season.

Spies has inked a deal with Italian team, Maddii Husqvarna Racing to contest the EMX250 championship in 2020 and will be swapping a two stroke for a four stroke.

The Maddii Husqvarna team seem to enjoy working with the younger riders and do a really good job improving them.

Spies will join Alberto Forato and Mattia Guadagnini under the team’s awning for the 2020 season.

“The contract came about because Mattia (Guadagnini) and I were already on the road throughout the whole season with the 250 2T. In Mantova and Kegums we started training together and so we talked to the Maddii’s. After the good result in Lommel, the talks became more concrete and the team saw potential in me, since I’m only 15 and already have a good speed”, Spies told GateDrop.com.

“My expectations for 2020 are first and foremost to learn a lot and consistently deliver good performances. Of course, I want to get into the top 10 of the EMX250 series, even though I know it will not be easy. At the moment I am in Italy and we test a lot on the chassis and the basic settings. Everything is very much like a family and yet professional, I like that very much”.
