Solid start to the season for Lupino!
Alessandro Lupino of the Gebben van Venrooy Kawasaki team started his world championship season off strongly with a top ten finish at the Argentinian GP. After finishing nineteenth in the first race, the Italian gutted it out to finish tenth in the second.
Lupino was motivated to start his season off well, but he got tapped off line by the rider next to him after the start of race one. He had to fight his way forward from the back of the ranks, and he passed rider after rider to claim nineteenth and a couple of points by the end of the race.
A much better start had Lupino just outside the top ten in race two. He managed to pass Glenn Coldenhoff near the end of the race to finish tenth. His combined results netted him 15th overall for the day.
The world championship series will continue in two weeks’time at Valkenswaard in the Netherlands. The team will first participate in the opening round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Markelo next weekend.
