Young Slovenian talent, Luka Milec came into the final round of the Slovenian championship in pain as he crashed just a few days before the event which meant he was riding with a sore elbow.
However, Milec battled through the pain barrier to finish 2-2 on the day and secure the MX2 Slovenian title. He beat a stiff competitor in the form of Jan Pancar – Slovenian fans have high hopes for both in regards to the future.
“The last round was a suffer for me, just 3 days before the race I had a small crash but injured my elbow a bit. Of course I didn’t want to lose the championship at the last round so I did my best to defend it. Lately I have my starts dialled in (big shout out to Linda Cuddy) so I played on it, to get a good start and to make some gap against the others with a couple really fast laps. The pain got real and I settled for 2nd which got me a title”.
“Of course we are all really happy to win the title, but it was definitely one of the hardest races ever. I want to say a huge thanks to Linda Cuddy for helping me mentally, Srdan Fitextreme Prodanovic for taking care of my fitness and to Roman Jelen for giving me technique on the bike. Also, of course thanks to my family and all sponsors”. Milec commented on his title.
