SJP Moto Husqvarna announce 2018 rider line-up!

SJP Moto Husqvarna PR:

With the 2017 season having just come to a close the SJP Moto Husqvarna team are pleased to announce their Pro rider line up for the 2018 season. The team will once again be competing in both the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship and the Michelin MX Nationals with riders in both the MX1 and MX2 classes.

For the 2018 season Team Owner Steve Parkin and Team Manager Leighton Haigh have been able to retain the services of Rob Davidson, who will once again be competing in the MX1 class. Alongside Rob, the team have secured the services of the talented youngster Jordan Eccles for the MX2 class.

Rob Davidson will be entering his third full season with the SJP Moto Husqvarna team and will be heading into his second season on the FC450 in the MX1 class. Following a successful debut season in the MX1 class, which saw Rob finish fourth in the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, the Sheffield based rider will be looking to progress forward during the winter and come out swinging at the start of the 2018 season.

In the MX2 class Jordan Eccles will be joining the team on the FC250. Pontefract based Jordan Eccles had a strong youth career and won the British Youth Open Championship in 2015 before moving into the Pro MX2 class in 2016. During 2017 Jordan produced a number of eye opening results and proved to have outright speed by taking pole position at different rounds of the MX Nationals. The move to the SJP Moto Husqvarna team for 2018 will see Jordan hopefully progress higher up the ranks in the British Championship standings.

Leighton Haigh – Team Manager – We are pleased to announce the 2018 Pro line up for SJP Moto Husqvarna which will see Rob Davidson in MX1 and Jordan Eccles in MX2. We know what we have with Rob as we’re going into our third year together. After a strong fourth place in the Maxxis ACU British Championship in his rookie season and keeping it consistent we know he has the minerals but we also know where we can improve with fitness and development with the bike. We are also pleased to have Jordan joining the team for 2018. We have done small amounts of work with him at the track before signing him and saw a massive potential in him as he has great speed and ability but he’s a bit of a rough diamond. As a team we are sure that with a bit of structure in his program and guidance from us we can help him reach his goals. Our 250f is a very strong package and we are looking forward to seeing Jordan racing towards the sharp end.

Rob Davidson – Pro MX1 Rider – I’m really looking forward to racing for SJP Moto for the third year now. I’m happy with the group of people I’m working with and know we have the best people around us so we will be putting in a lot of work over the off season. We have some good training camps booked in for the winter and I am confident that we will be going into 2018 happy and ready to race!

Jordan Eccles – Pro MX2 Rider – I’m really happy to have signed the deal for SJP Moto for 2018. I have a lot of trust in Leighton, Steve and Mick and I know my bikes will always be perfect. I’m looking forward to get started on the 350 for winter and show people the results I am capable of.
