Simone Furlotti was with the SM-Action Yamaha team this year as he contested the MX2 World Championship. However, due to the under 23 age rule, Furlotti can’t contest the MX2 World Championship in 2019.
The Italian has signed a deal with the GBO Motorsports team in Italy which will see him work closely with an ex GP rider, Matteo Bonini. The GBO Motorsports team ran Kawasaki equipment in the Italian Championship this year but are expected to make the switch to KTM’s for 2019.
It means Furlotti will make the switch from Yamaha to KTM in 2019 and will also contest the Italian Championship as well as the EMX250 championship.
With the experience the Italian has he’s expected to be a front runner in both championships.
