At the French GP, Thomas Covington finally revealed that he will head back to America for the 2019 season so he can race back home again.
Even though the American only revealed the news in France, it was actually decided a long time ago and if rumours are to be believed then the Factory Husqvarna team have already signed a replacement for Covington.
We heard at the German Grand Prix that Jed Beaton has been the chosen rider to replace Covington but of course that’s still be to confirmed. Unfortunately for the Aussie he took a big crash at Matterley Basin which will likely put an end to his season.
Before the crash Beaton was sitting in an impressive fifth in the MX2 World Championship on his F&H Kawasaki which was very good considering he’s a rookie.
If the Aussie does join the Factory Husqvarna team not only will he join up with Thomas Kjer Olsen but it’ll be interesting to see him working with ex World Champion, Jacky Martens.
