There’s no secret that the 114 Honda Motorsport team are in the market for another MX2 World Championship rider as Hunter Lawrence heads to America for the 2019 season.
According to a reliable source, we’ve heard that the team will sign another Aussie in the form of Mitch Evans. Evans has been riding a 450cc in Australia for the past few years and impressed at the Motocross Des Nations in RedBud on the MX1 machine. It’s thought the 114 Honda Motorsport team have signed him up to compete in the MX2 World Championship for the year ahead.
Another Aussie, Wilson Todd had been linked with the ride earlier in the year but it seems that Evans will be the guy to secure the ride.
As for Evans teammate, we’ve heard from sources that they will sign Zach Pichon, the son of ex World Champion, Mickael Pichon. Zach contested his rookie year in the MX2 World Championship this year. He would have learnt plenty competing in MX2 and it’s thought he’ll make the switch from KTM to Honda.
It looks like Bas Vaessen who was with the team this year is on the move, his move is expected to be confirmed shortly.
We will bring you more news as soon as it’s official.
