We’ve recently reported that Yamaha could be all change in 2020 with a structure change (read here).
The structure change could mean some difficult decisions have to be made but we’ve heard from a reliable source in the GP paddock that Arnaud Tonus has agreed a deal to extend his Yamaha contract beyond 2019.
It’s wouldn’t come as a huge shock as Tonus has been on a roll lately with four podium visits in a row in MXGP. The next challenge for the Swiss talent is to win a round of the series – he wasn’t far away in Latvia.
With speculation strongly suggesting Tonus will stay with the Wilvo Yamaha team who are hotly rumoured to become the Factory Yamaha team, the next decision will be decide who his team mate will be for 2020.
It’s possible that there might only be one more seat available with Febvre, Paulin and Seewer all in the run in.
