Austin Root is focusing his motocross career outside of America this year after signing a deal with German based team, KMP Honda.

The American rode a few rounds of the MX2 World Championship last year but since he’s too old to contest the MX2 series this year due to the u23 age rule, he’s focusing on the 450cc.

Root has managed to secure a wild card entry for the MXGP of Mantova this weekend that will see him go head to head with the best riders in the world.

“My main goal is to score points. I am staying in Italy and I decided to do the GP because I want to show people back in the USA that I can be that guy who races anywhere and does well”, Root commented on his opportunity.
