Roosiorg back on the box at Tensfeld

Roosiorg back on the box at Tensfeld

Tensfeld hosted the fifth round of the ADAC MX Masters Championship and the WZ KTM Racing team welcomed Jose Butron under the awning as he was able to secure a wildcard ride.

The Spanish Champion had a solid weekend and sixth seemed to be his position as that’s where he ended up in both moto’s to secure a sixth overall in the MX Masters class.

Gianluca Ecca’s weekend started off really well as he put in the eighth quickest time in his qualifying group only 1.6 seconds off pole and even put in a quicker time than GP rider, Henry Jacobi. However, the moto’s didn’t go to plan for the German as he suffered from a crash on the first lap in moto one. He was trying to recover from the crash and make his way up the pack before suffering from another crash which meant no points in the first moto.

However, the second moto went better for Ecca as he started around twentieth and that’s where he finished so he secured a point. He’ll hope to build on this and get better results that reflect his speed during the remaining last two rounds of the series.

In the Youngsters Cup, Hardi Roosiorg managed a podium at the first round and he got back on the box again in Tensfeld. Starts weren’t kind to Roosiorg but he managed to work his way through the pack. A 5-2 scorecard was enough for the Estonian to secure an impressive third overall.

Things were looking great for young talent, Jeremy Sydow during qualifying as he was quickest in his group and had the quickest time from both groups. It meant he had the first gate pick for the races.

In the first moto, Sydow was riding in third and looked comfortable there but then had a problem with his goggles that didn’t help matters. It meant he dropped a position but fourth was still a solid moto.

Unfortunately, in the second moto there was a start crash and Sydow was involved. He got ran over and has a sore shoulder as a result from the incident so that was his race over. Sydow hopes to be fit enough to race Lommel this weekend though.

It wasn’t a good weekend for Dovydas Karka but speed wasn’t the issue. Unfortunately, bike issues during both moto’s meant he couldn’t even score a point but he feels like he had the speed for top five results. He will be racing the EMX250 Championship this weekend in Lommel with a point to prove after such an unlucky weekend.

The team also had Russian rider, Timue Petrashin under the awning and he finished thirty-fourth and twenty-first in the moto’s. He would have learnt a lot racing such a competitive championship.

Gianluca Ecca (23rd overall): Saturday started really good with p.10 in free practice and I was able to improve that with an 8th place in my qualifying group.
First moto was re-started, after I had a little crash during the first lap, I made some good laps and making up some positions before another crash stop me from more. Second moto started around 20 and also finished on P.20. Overall it was a step into the right direction, but still a lot to improve for the last two rounds.

Hardi Roosiorg (3rd overall): Saturday didn’t go quite as planned as I qualified 4th in my group.
Sunday in the first race I got a bad start but started pushing forward and finished 5th.
In the second race I had another bad start because of some crashes but got instantly a good rhythm and pushed through the pack fast and catching up with the first guy, didn’t manage to make a solid pass, so I finished 2nd. I am still happy with my overall 3rd.

Jeremy Sydow (10th overall): During timed practice I was the fastest rider and got the pole position. In race one I was riding in third place but then I had some problems with my goggles. But I was able to finish on a good 4th place. In race 2 my race was after one corner over. I crashed and somebody rode over me. I hope that I can ride at Lommel this weekend.

Dovydas Karka (21st overall): I have nothing to say. It was just an unlucky weekend, I’m disappointed. I was fast the whole weekend, I had top five speed for sure, just had stupid bike problems in both races which cost me and I had disappointing results. I will be back for Lommel this weekend though.
