Things were going well for young Dutch talent, Rick Elzinga in Mantova as he won the first moto. He was also looking good in the second moto as he was trying to make a pass to get himself into second.

However, the MJC Yamaha rider took a big crash in the second moto. Unfortunately, it’s not good news as he’s broke both of his wrists and he now needs to get surgery.

Elzinga is expected to be out for between six and eight weeks so he’ll most likely miss the first few rounds of the EMX125 series which is a big blow for him.

The MJC Yamaha team will continue with Thibault Bénistant and Jörgen-Matthias Talviku under the awning.
