RFME MX Junior team confirmed for 2020

On Monday, November 25, the selection stage for the RFME MX Junior Team 2020 was held at the Red Sand facilities in Castellón. Directed by Paco Rico, the shortlisted pilots were: Gerard Congost, David Braceras, Guillem Farrés, David Beltrán, Albert Fontova,Edgar Canet, Víctor Puig and Raúl Sánchez. There would only be room for three riders on the team.

The level of all the pilots was very high and it was very difficult to choose only three. Different tests were made in the different paths that are in this circuit of the province of Castellón: fast lap test with a single opportunity, double fast lap test, 10 laps test, etc…

After the activity on the track, conversations between the teem, it’s been decided the three riders who will wear the colours of Spain in the next EMX125 2020 European Championship have been decided. The riders to be with the team in 2020 are David Braceras, Gerard Congost and Guillem Farrés.

Nine races

The European EMX125 next season will have nine races, all of them sharing an event with MXGP. The first will be held in Matterey Bassin (Great Britain) on March 1. The national team will travel to Valkenswaard (Netherlands), Spain, Agueda (Portugal), Saint Jean D’Angely (France), Lommel (Belgium), Uddevalla (Sweden), Litti-Rymring (Finland) and Imola (Italy).

Paco Rico, team manager : “The tests have been of a very high level and these guys have been very fast to find a place in the team. I think this year we are going to enjoy these 3 riders a lot. Thanks to the good work of the RFME, they will be presented in 2020 with an incredibly good opportunity to take advantage of it in search of a future in the MX World Cup”.
