In a brilliant first moto it was Calvin Vlaanderen who took the win after doing it the hard way passing Jorge Prado and Thomas Covington to do it.

Vlaanderen said, “21st gate pick is not the best, I managed to get a good start I think it was 5th it 6th, I knew it was going to be a long race and I just kept doing my thing, I’m really happy.”

But only six seconds separated the top five at the end as early leader Prado finished third right behind Covington but crucially just besting Jonass who suffered an average start, Hunter Lawrence finally showed his proper form again to hound Jonass for the whole moto but was unable to make the pass.

Jorge Prado took the win race two but he was pushed all the way by a fantastic late race charge from Thomas Covington. The American just couldn’t find a by the Spaniard before the flag after Prado showed the heart to win along with his talent when it really mattered under pressure.

The moto win gave Prado the overall and the red plate after Pauls Jonasss could only muster a fifth after being third earlier in the race.

Calvin Vlaanderen came from the edge of the top ten right through to third but lost the overall on a tie-break with Prado.
