MX2 moto one

Pole-man Adam Sterry took the early lead from championship leader Clarke, with Brad Todd in third. Bryan Mackenzie was fifth by the end of lap one but Martin Barr didn’t get away well and was down in 14th. Things got even worse for Barr as he went into the pits to get running repairs and came out in 38th place, Barr finally got back to 17th but lost a lot of points in the title chase.

Todd, MacKenzie and Pocock (on his first outing on the Hitachi Revo Husky) were embroiled in a battle for third with Mackenzie finally getting himself into third. The only problem was his teammate Clarke was 18 seconds up the track in second!

Clarke was keeping Sterry honest up front and put the pressure on as he looked for the moto win, he made the move down the inside on lap eight to take the lead. Sterry tired to retaliate and put Clarke under pressure in the final couple of laps but Clarke stayed strong to take a huge win for the championship.

MX1 race one

Graeme Irwin took the holeshot from pole-sitter Tommy Searle and Jake Nicholls but Searle made the move on Irwin on lap two, with Nicholls sensing his opportunity passing Irwin straight after Searle as the Ulsterman tried to regain his rhythm. Championship leader Simpson meanwhile was having a nightmare and back in 32nd position.

Irwin’s teammate Whatley got himself into fourth passing Brad Anderson showing a return to form after some stern words from Dave Thorpe two week’s ago. Unfortunately the race was red-flagged due to an injured rider but results will stand giving Searle the win and Simpson a disastrous 17th place.

MX2 moto two

Adam Sterry wasn’t going to be beaten by anyone in moto two and cleared off to a dominating win ahead of the consistent Clarke who looked set to take second place only to crash with five minutes to go!

Clarke remounted in tenth place and set about doing some damage limitation but with Sterry and Mackenzie 1-2, Clarkes points lead was in danger. Clarke fought back to seventh to take 14 valuable points.

Mel Pocock finished a brilliant third in moto two to take third on his first ride with the Hitachi Revo Husqvarna team. Martin Barr had a bad day with a sixth in race two which effectively rules him out of title contention unless the leading trio make a mistake or two.

Clarke now has a seven point lead over Sterry and four over Mackenzie with just two rounds to go! Martin Barr is now 27 points behind the championship lead in fourth.

Tommy Searle and Jake Nicholls and had a bar banging battle at the start of race two with Searle getting the edge on Nicholls and edging out a small lead. The Buildbase Honda duo of Irwin and Whatley keeping a watching brief in third and fourth with EBB riding well in fifth putting pressure on the Hondas.

Whatley put the pass on Irwin as they inched away from Banks-Browne, ensuring Whatley took third overall on the podium.

Shaun Simpson had another terrible start outside the top twenty, he got himself back up to 16th then went down and remounted in 22nd place. He charged through the field again to finish seventh but it means the Scot lost the red plate to rival Tommy Searle and is now 16 points behind!
