Renkens starts up his own MXGP team

Young Belgian, Nathan Renkens has a new challenge as he’s decided to go in the direction of starting up his own team to contest the European rounds of the MXGP World Championship in 2019.

Renkens was with the KMP Honda team this year and has decided it’s best to make the switch back to KTM for the year ahead. The name of the new team in the paddock will be known as the NR83 team.

The young Belgian will also race the ADAC MX Masters Championship for the Raths Motorsport team as well as competing the Dutch Masters of Motocross.

There will be another rider under the awning as Renkens has decided to sign Julian Vander Auwera to contest in the EMX125 championship.

“After some problems last year, we take the decision to go back to KTM as it’s a bike that’s good out of the box. We can work from one good base with this bike and go to Front. I will do testing all winter to get the bike as best as possible. I will compete in the ADAC MX Masters as well as all the MXGP races in Europe. I will do my own team for next year with one rider also in the EMX125 series. We will see what happens in the future. I’d like to thank  KTM Belguim (dam racing), Twinair, Dunlop, Sölva, Renthal, Motul and Scott”. Renkens commented.

“I got the opportunity to ride for Team NR83 because Nathan Renkens is a close friend and together we think we can build something solid and have some great basis for the new season with some great help. The objective for next year will definitely be to qualify myself and get some top 20 and top 15 results. I would like to especially thank my parents for being 200% behind me and making my dream come true. But also a special thanks to all my sponsors, Studio telecom, Profidgest, Dunlop, Holeshot, Ride and Race and all the others. Of course to my coaches that helps me more than a lot to be at 110% – Diego Garcia and Jean Hernoux”, added Vander Auwera.
