Reed on radio communication between rider and mechanic at the MEC – safer!
Chad Reed has thrown his weight behind radio communication between the rider and their mechanic in supercross after using it at the Monster Energy Cup.
A big thing in car racing, it is something motocross has never really went with but Reed feels it makes things safer.
Talking to Tom Jacobs, Reed said: “Actually I really like it, in general it was quite nice. I think for safety it’s much safer and I think we need that communication for 2020, I really do. I think it’s a safety advantage, I hope next year they let us do it in supercross.”
However, Adam Cianciarulo wasn’t a fan saying he wouldn’t use it as he didn’t want any more distractions, so the debate rumbles on but it could be something we may see in supercross more regularly in the future.
